Glyptotoket Etching - Laser cut and Gold leaf edition

£125.00

Glyptotoket Etching

Copper plate etching with lasercut detail and gold leaf

Printed image size: 30 x 40cm

Paper size 38 x 49 Approx

These hand pressed prints are created with a traditional copper etching technique at Northern Print, Ouseburn, Newcastle using a press. The plate is inked by hand to editions may vary slightly. This edition has been worked into with a laser cut design taken from insect nibbles on a leaf. A layer of gold leaf has been added underneath.

The image shows the contents of a cabinet from Glyptoteket Museum Copenhagen, Denmark.

The cabinet holds plaster noses, ears and other body parts taken from 'repairs' to precious statues in the museums collection. At some point in history these repairs / nose jobs were removed to leave only the authentic sculptures behind.

Original copper plate etching - Limited Edition of 2

(See separate listing)

Further laser cut edition - Limited Edition of 2

Delivered unframed, rolled in a tube, protected in tissue

Royal Mail 2nd class 3-5days

Monotype print from a steel plate

Printed image size: 24.5cm

Paper size 37 x 46 cm Approx

These hand pressed prints are created by applying ink to a circular steel plate and running through the press

The steel was a found piece of metal that I have used many times as a monotype plate.

I am keen to explore the use of found objects as part of my printmaking practice with the view to work with low impact materials and processes to support the environment

The monotype processes allows me to create one of a kind pieces, no two designs are alike.
