Hannah Scully is an artist and arts educator based in the North East of England. Her practice primarily explores printmaking but she is also interested in sculpture and casting. She has recently explored 3D printing, lasercutting and ceramics and is experimenting with the intersection of these processes. Hannah's upbringing on a rural farm in Wensleydale has influenced much of her work which commonly follows themes of an experimental and archival nature. She is passionate about working with low impact and recycled materials and frequently makes use of found or discarded objects. She is a compulsive collector, and records unusual finds and curious objects through her printmaking but also through her sculptural works.
Hannah completed a BA in Fine Art at Newcastle University in 2015, she was then based at 36 Lime Street studios in Ouseburn until 2019 before setting up a studio in Durham. Hannah is a member of Northern Print, NSEAD and NEATEN (North East Art Teacher/Educator Network)
Hannah also works in Further Education and teaches across visual arts including A Level, Art Foundation and Gold Arts Award.
